Costume parade a highlight

A key event of the Tremains Art Deco Festival was the Art Deco Costumes and Coiffure and Bathing Belles competition at Napier’s Sound Shell on Saturday afternoon. Beaus and belles strutted their stuff dressed in 1930’s style to compete for the top spot. Photographer Paul Taylor was there.

The heart of Napier City was transformed into a 1930s Deco affair at the weekend for the annual Tremains Art Deco Festival. Vintage cars cruised down Marine Parade, families dressed in their Art Deco best and visitors enjoyed the many events on offer.
